To consider the purposes and values of assessment.
Ask a colleague or mentor about how testing regimes influence their teaching style. What do they say and do you agree? Write a paragraph that demonstrates your stance. Consider if assessment should be weighted more towards the formative, to improve learning, or the summative, to measure attainment. Can there ever be a balance between the two?
