Reflect on Biesta’s ‘Three dimensions of Education’ discussed in the book (Chapter 4) and remind yourself of this framework.
With a colleague discuss which dimension you think currently controls your practice the most and which controls your practice the least. Represent this by drawing a Venn-diagram with three different sized circles labelled qualification, subjectification and socialisation, the largest circle being the one which affects your work the most.
What do you notice? Are you happy with the results or do you feel there needs to be a change in your practice. What does your colleague think?
