To develop an awareness of your own biography into teaching.

Reflection

Think about your own journey into teaching. Write a brief summary of your story as we have done at the beginning of this chapter. Ask a colleague to do the same. Together, look at the influences on your decisions and decide if there are any factors that relate to your own students and indeed family members. If you are already teaching, what advice would you give to someone thinking about becoming a teacher?
