To consider and reflect on practical ways that you hope to develop respect and tolerance for others in your early years context.
Article 29 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child calls for mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. Collate examples from your own setting where practitioners have planned activities and interventions which encourage children to respect their own and other cultures, and to accept and value diverse identities within the one setting. Which activities and approaches have been successful? How can you tell?
