To relate personal beliefs to wider ideologies.
Sometimes when we look back on a personal belief that we held in the past, we can recognise, with the advantage of hindsight, that this individual belief was actually part of a dominant way of thinking influenced by the wider socio-political context and shared by many others. Does this experience sound familiar to you? Try to identify, and make notes on, two or three examples. Ask a colleague to do the same. Then compare notes.
You can then take this activity one step further and try to recognise newer ideologies that may currently be in the making.
