To review the motivational qualities of a series of classroom activities.
Consider a teaching/learning session and list the requirements which were made of selected students. This might be dome by asking a colleague to observe, or by interpreting an audio recording. From the perspective of each of the selected students, make a judgement of the type of motivation which you feel influenced their actions. Record your judgements. If possible, discuss the session with the students involved and record their accounts.
By comparing teacher judgements and students' accounts it should be possible to obtain many insights which could help in developing more appropriate approaches to motivating students in the future.
