For trainee teachers, we suggest that you select one lesson plan that you were responsible for creating or for adapting for teaching. Review the plan in the light of the seven topics discussed in the book: a) context and previous assessment information; b) learning intentions; c) phases of the lesson; d) learning tasks; e) success criteria; f) resources, ICT and safety; g) supporting adults. To what extent does your plan reflect these elements and the issues associated with them? What might be done to improve your specific plan or the next plan in the teaching sequence? Compare your planning with that of another trainee. What are the similarities and differences? How might your planning be improved?
