To consider your practice in relation to assessment criteria and levels.
Write your own personal reflection; the following questions may support your writing:
Do you ever feel pressure from colleagues, schools or families to ensure children reach particular targets?
Where does this pressure stem from?
Do you ever feel under pressure to ‘fill the gaps’ and so narrow a child’s experience?
Could this be avoided?
As you have highlighted pressures from particular sources, think about how you could work with others to alleviate this pressure. For example, would a parent feel less anxious if they understand the thinking behind the unique child and children’s unique development? Discuss your ideas with a colleague.
