To consider how successful you are at involving families in the assessment processes in your setting.
We have consistently reiterated the important role of families (parents, carers, and all those who care for the child) in a child’s education. Is this reflected in the assessments carried out in your setting? How is the family’s knowledge of the child recognised? Are families encouraged to share their knowledge?
Consider how you would evaluate the success of any aspects you implement?
Look again at Chapter 13 and the ‘Penn Green Learning Loop’ are there any aspects of this approach that you could use in your setting?
