To review TLRP’s principles on engagement, relationships and informal learning.
This group of principles concern how teaching makes connections with the learner. Emphasizing the construction of meaning, they acknowledge personal and social influences on children and young people in settings and beyond – as realized through both formal and informal learning processes. Once again, these are enduring issues – they are forever with us.
An excellent development of this activity would be to explore the issues directly through discussion with selected families or other stakeholders in the community. How do families feel that they understand what is being provided in the setting and how this aligns with what happens at home? Would they welcome greater opportunities to discuss/share learning opportunities with you?
