To reflect on inclusive pedagogy and its classroom application.
Read Kate’s case study about using peer group collaboration as an inclusive pedagogical approach. You might like to revisit the three key themes discussed above to help you think about Kate’s provision.
In respect of your own classroom:
Reflect on an individual learner, or group of learners, who are at risk of being marginalised from the classroom community because of particular special needs, or any other reason. What do you know about them as learners?
Think about strategies that you have used to support their inclusion. Would you describe these as an ‘additional needs approach to inclusion’ (most and some) or an ‘inclusive pedagogical approach’ (all)?
Reflect on any changes and developments which might be possible.
