Home > Reflective Teaching in Schools, 5th Ed > 1. Becoming a reflective professional > 1. Identity > Reflective Activities > To identify some needs of a selected number of children in one’s class
To identify some needs of a selected number of children in one's class and to establish an order of priority.
List the children's names and beside each name record your judgement of that child's key needs.
1. Consider which criteria you used in deciding ‘key' needs. Was your choice based on the fact that you value certain needs more than others and believe them to be of greater importance in themselves?
2. Examine the needs that you have listed and see if any pattern exists across the class which could form a common basis for planning activities.
3. Identify needs which are specific to individual children and consider how you could make provision for them.
