To review and explore the significance of ideology, culture, opportunity and accountability.
Arrange to meet with a small group of work colleagues. In preparation, share out the sections of Chapter 5 we have considered so far, so that ideology, culture, opportunity and accountability are each covered.
In a meeting, each sub-group should explain the issues raised in their section of the chapter, and should relate them to your work context. How, in particular, is your setting affected by the context in which it exists?
What other contextual factors are particularly significant in determining the circumstances of your setting? How does this impact upon provision?
