Overview

This list of suggested readings follows up the ideas about inclusion and social justice presented in Reflective Teaching Chapter 15. The chapter is based on two key assumptions: first, that diversity amongst a class of learners is to be expected and welcomed and second, that all learners have the right to achieve. Two books provide overarching perspectives on equality and difference:

  • Richardson, R. (2009) Holding Together: Equalities, Difference and Cohesion, Stoke on Trent: Trentham. (Reading 15.1)
  • Solar, J., Walsh, C. S., Craft, A., Rix, J. and Simmons, K. (2012) Transforming Practice: Critical Issues in Equity, Diversity and Education, Maidenhead: Open University Press.
