Either closely observe pupils working in groups in two lessons, or reflect on group work activities that you have initiated in your classroom over the last week. Use these questions as a starting point for your reflections:
What were the successful elements of the group work?
What was less successful?
Can you identify why a particular group activity was successful or unsuccessful?
What would you do differently next time?

Had the pupils in the groups been guided and trained in how to work productively for learning in this way? Do you consider that this would have enhanced the group work?
