To reflect upon what you feel the role of the early years practitioner should be in supporting children’s access to digital technologies.
Evidence and reflection
Children live in digital worlds. Take some time to think about how you feel about children’s use of specific digital technologies for example, cameras, handheld game consoles, PCs, iPads. Do they have the potential to offer children rich learning opportunities? What might your role be in ensuring children’s encounters with such technologies support learning?
Think about your team as a whole. Are the children in your setting offered a range of opportunities to work with digital technologies? Are such opportunities adequately included within planning? Perhaps work with a colleague to review your planning reflecting specifically on opportunities for children to work with digital technologies and look for opportunities to extend these as learning opportunities.
