To identify aspects of the craft, art and science of pedagogy in our teaching

Evidence and reflection

Think back to a lesson you have taught very recently. On a blank piece of paper, make a rough sketch of the diagram in Figure 11.1. In each circle, note down anything from the lesson you can identify as aspects of the craft, art and science of your pedagogy. What is the balance between the different aspects? At what stage of the lesson were different aspects prevalent? How might you account for any difference in emphasis?
