Policy and your teaching practices
Select an institutional policy that in some way helps to shape your teaching practices. For example, this could be a teaching and learning strategy or a policy about assessment procedures.
Examine the text of this policy and identify the way in which it depicts the process of teaching and learning. What assumptions does it make about the relationship between teaching and learning? How does it depict students and teachers?
Thinking about your own teaching practices, examine the extent to which they are aligned to or contradict the depiction in the policy.
What reasons can you see for the alignment and/or contradiction between the policy and your practice?
What are the implications of this for both your teaching practices and the policy?
