To monitor your own practice.
Focus on a classroom in which you have some teaching responsibility. Review and self-consciously monitor your own practices. Perhaps you could also ask a colleague to observe you teach a session.
Consider the three simple conclusions suggested by Nisbet and Shucksmith (1986).
To what extent do you:
- Set clear cognitive goals?
- Model strategies for learning?
- Encourage metacognitive discussion?
