To identify aspects of the craft, art and science of pedagogy in teaching.

Evidence and reflection

Think back to a planned activity you have led very recently. On a blank piece of paper, make a rough sketch of the diagram in Figure 11.1. In each circle, note down anything from the session you can identify as aspects of the craft, art and science of your pedagogy.

Extension

Add to your sketch instances where opportunities arose and your pedagogic repertoire allowed you to make the most of the opportunities presented to you. Also note if there were missed opportunities which you may follow up in the future.
